Description

EVO S1P SRC is a safety shoe (low shoe) with a steel toe cap that withstands impact energy of 200 J and compression of 15 kN, and a steel puncture-resistant insert. The upper is made of bovine split leather. The sole is made of dual-density polyurethane PU/PU, slip-resistant, antistatic and oil-resistant, with energy absorption in the heel area. The lining is made of hygroscopic material, and the upper has perforation for ventilation.

The shoe belongs to personal protective equipment category II under Regulation (EU) 2016/425. No protective equipment can provide complete protection. The shoe should be used together with a safe working environment, and a risk assessment of the working environment should always be made first. The shoe is not intended for contact with fire and must not be modified, except for orthopaedic adaptations in accordance with Annex A of the standard.

Choose the correct size before first use. Shoes that are too small or too large restrict movement and will not provide adequate protection. Use a shoe horn when putting the shoes on and adjust them with the laces or fasteners. Before each use, check that the shoe is complete and free from damage that could affect the protective function, for example cracks, holes or damaged seams.

The shoe has passed the slip resistance tests in accordance with the standard, but slipping can still occur in some working environments. Antistatic footwear reduces the build-up of electrostatic charge by dissipating it, but may not provide complete protection and is not suitable for work with live electrical installations. The electrical resistance can change significantly due to bending, contamination or moisture. Antistatic socks are recommended together with the shoes.

Footwear with puncture-resistant insoles has been tested with standardised forces and nails (truncated nail with a diameter of 4.5 mm and a force of 1100 N). With a smaller diameter and a higher load, the risk of puncture is greater.

The shoe is supplied with a removable insole, and the tests were carried out with the insole in place. The insole may only be replaced with an insole supplied by the footwear manufacturer or the insole manufacturer that meets the requirements of the standard in combination with the shoe. Footwear supplied with an insole may only be used with it.

Clean the shoes with a slightly damp cloth and leave them to dry. Then apply a good quality care product intended for the material. Do not use corrosive cleaning agents and avoid soaking the shoes. Wet shoes should be left to dry at room temperature in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place away from heat sources. Store the shoes in a dry, ventilated place in the original cardboard box at 5 to 24 °C and 50 to 70 % humidity, protected from dirt, mechanical damage and chemicals.

The shelf life cannot be determined exactly, as it depends on the intensity of use, weather and environmental conditions and on how the product is stored. When stored correctly it is normally 5 years from the date of manufacture for leather footwear with a rubber sole and 3 years for footwear with PU. Damaged shoes must be replaced immediately, even if the damage is barely noticeable, as a toe cap can be damaged by impact, accident or pressure. Dispose of the product in accordance with the environmental regulations in force in the country of use.
